WHAT IS AYURVEDIC MARMA POINT THERAPY? You can think of Marma Point Therapy as the "original acupuncture," but Marma Point Therapy involves NO needles. Marma Point Therapy is believed to have originated in India thousands of years ago, was brought to China, and has been preserved by what we know as modern-day acupuncture practice. There are no needles in Marma Point Therapy. Marma Point Therapy involves a wonderful, relaxing and therapeutic combination of:
application of medicated oil to specific points on the body,
pressure to those very specific points,
and energetic body work (called "pranic healing"--just like, or very similar to, Reiki energy healing) on those same points for very specific results.
Through the combination of physical stimulation of these major points on the body, medicated oil application (so you get some aromatherapy benefits as well!), and the movement of stagnant, excessive, or deficient energy through your body, Marma Point Therapy has assisted in healing pain, injury, illness, and even the most debilitating of diseases, like Parkinson's and MS. We can tailor a session around very specific protocol for almost any ailment or disease you can think of, including, but not limited to:
reproductive challenges and disease (fibroids, PCOS, prostate, menopause, etc.)
urinary system challenges and disease
respiratory disease and challenges (from bronchitis to COPD)
insomnia, addiction, migraines, etc.
cancer and the side effects of cancer treatment
and the list goes on...
Each protocol works around the major area of the complaint or disease, as well as points around the body, which correspond to the area of pain or disfunction. For instance, for lower back pain, the points we work on are, obviously, on the lower back, but we also work around the pelvic region and certain points on the head, which correspond to general spinal alignment.
