This is not a cookie-cutter diet or exercise routine. This is a lifestyle plan designed just for you. Ayurveda tailors itself to the individual. Ayurveda teaches us self-understanding and self-compassion. Ayurveda works.
Ayurveda Salt Lake City.
Ayurveda is often referred to as the "sister science" of yoga. Ayurveda is one of the oldest known forms of medicine, with its beginnings in India, and is thought to be over 5000 years old. The science of Ayurveda looks at the root cause of disease in order to assist self-healing and optimize the body's natural ability to create wellness and healing in the individual, taking into account all of a person's unique characteristics. Through analyzation of digestion, psychological tendencies, emotional tendencies, aptitudes, physical characteristics, and their unique combination in the individual, Ayurveda helps us find our natural rhythm in the seasons, in the aging process, and in Nature. This promotes harmony, balance, and health in the body, mind, and soul. An Ayurvedic consultation can inform you about how and what to eat, which herbs to take, how to exercise, when to sleep, how to work, how to meditate and breathe, and how to pattern your daily life and routine in order to create a peaceful mind, a strong body, and a resilient immune system.
Maybe you've always struggled with digestive challenges (gas, bloating, indigestion, burning digestion, diarrhea, constipation). Maybe you always get sick when the seasons change. Maybe you suffer from anxiety around work or relationships. Maybe you are challenged by burnout, fatigue, or chronic inflammation. Maybe you have a diagnosed disease or illness. Maybe you're tired of following every diet and exercise trend with few or no results. Whatever the challenge, Ayurveda can alleviate suffering, align you with the natural rhythms of life (sleeping, eating, digesting, working, etc.), and teach what works for YOU.
In your Initial, 2-hour Consultation and 50-minute Report of Findings visits with Meghan, you will learn your prakruti (original nature) and vikruti (current nature/imbalances), and Meghan will teach you about the doshas (vata, pitta, and kapha) and the elements (earth, water, fire, air, and ether).

Over time, you will learn lifestyle practices, Ayurvedic practices, proper sleep routines, supportive exercise habits, balancing diet and herbs, as well as meditation and pranayama (breathing) techniques. Ayurveda touches on every, single component of your daily life: how you work, how you eat, how you digest food, how you bathe, how you sleep, and how your senses perceive the world around you. We slowly and gradually add healing practices to each facet of your life, in order to bring body and mind into their most optimal states of health, wellness, and healing.
At first, weekly check-ins are recommended, so that we may add or subtract practices, herbs, and dietary modifications to your routine, based on changes as your body comes back into balance. After that, and depending upon your progress and commitment to your own healing journey, follow-up appointments may be every-other-weekly, then monthly, and then seasonally. Approximately 16 sessions over 6 months or 30 sessions over 12 months/1 year are recommended to create an environment in your body and mind for self-healing.

"Nothing is right for everyone. Everything is right for someone. Ayurveda is a path of understanding what is right for you." - Dr. Marc Halpern, founder California College of Ayurveda
"I'd been looking for an Ayurveda practitioner for about a year when I stumbled upon Meghan's site. She was quick to reply to my email, and we met (virtually, due to COVID-19) the very next week. Meghan's ability to make this ancient holistic healing method understandable in these modern times is a blessing to this world. This journey has made me more aware of my own constitution and empowered to bring balance to my body, mind and spirit. Her guidance over several weeks was paced perfectly, allowing me to implement new practices that I will be able to maintain for a lifetime. Five Stars are simply not enough for this BRIGHT LIGHT. Thank you, Meghan Hays!" - Erin S.
