21-Day Nervous System Reset
Calm, Clear, Balanced…on the Road to Healing

Over the last twenty years, I have worked with hundreds of clients through the lens of Ayurveda, Reiki, Yoga, Pilates, and group fitness. 

I have learned a thing or two about the human nervous system…mainly, it runs the show. 

Whether you have chronic pain, insomnia, digestive issues, anxiety, or even an autoimmune diagnosis, if you calm and ground the nervous system, those symptoms subside and, over time, can resolve completely—I’ve seen it first-hand in my clients and in myself. 

Western medicine and cutting edge, scientific research now support the connection between the nervous system and all systems of the body.  From the digestive system to the reproductive system, there is no part of the body, organ, or tissue the nervous system does not affect. 

One of the most important lessons Ayurveda has taught me over the last decade of practice is that getting to the ROOT of your health issues is the ONLY way to heal disease.  Throwing endless products, pharmaceuticals, and fad diets at them only masks symptoms.  You might get temporary relief, before the body tries to find another way (ie. a new and different symptom) to tell you something’s…STILL…wrong. 

Join me in a gentle and easy exploration of four techniques to calm and ground your nervous system.  See how effective these simple and time-trusted practices can be at reducing your stress, worry, and anxiety and getting you on the road to true, lasting relief and healing—each one is 20 minutes or less!  I’ll use these four techniques to help you find restoration and rejuvenation: restorative yoga (see below for what props you’ll want to gather/purchase), yoga nidra (no equipment needed), and gentle yoga asana (no equipment needed), preceded by pranayama (breathwork). 

Restorative yoga puts the body in comfortable, completely supportive postures, using bolsters, blankets, and blocks to allow you to ease into gentle surrender.   These body positions gently “massage” organs, muscles, and lymph nodes to get you out of “fight or flight” (depleting), sympathetic nervous system response and to elicit the “rest and digest” (healing), parasympathetic nervous system response.   

Yoga Nidra is the ancient practice of “yogic sleep,” during which you lie down, get completely comfortable, and allow yourself to be guided by my voice in bringing awareness to each part of the body.  While I guide you to successively relax each joint and organ, all while you are awake and aware, your body shifts into repair mode.  I have seen clients’ healing journeys accelerate when yoga nidra is practiced on a consistent basis, most days of the week.  Just twenty minutes of yoga nidra is the equivalent of at least (and usually more than) one full hour of sleep on the body and mind.  Yoga nidra reboots the brain, resets and restores the nervous system, and allows the body to drop into its most natural state—one of healing.

My gentle yoga asana sequence will give you a full-body workout, alternating between a moderately challenging movement that taxes the nervous system just enough to make it stronger, followed by moves that allow recovery and calm. 
We will open and close each class/sequence with a breathwork practice (pranayama) that can also be a standalone practice to bring harmony and healing to the nervous system.  *I will send a new breathwork recording after each class so you can use them as a standalone, nervous-system-balancing practice.

Sunday April 26th – Sunday May 17th

4 x 20 min. Restorative Yoga (live – recording sent after class)  

-Sundays 6pm MT (4/26, 5/3, 5/10, 5/17)

-Ease the “Sunday Scaries!”   Slide into your week with more balance, less worry and anxiety.
-Props Recommended: 1 Bolster, 3 Yoga Blankets (OR 3 Pillows of the same size OR 2 Yoga Blankets and 1 Pillow), and 2 Yoga Blocks

3 x 20 min. Balancing Yoga Flow + Pranayama/Breathwork (live – recording sent after class)
-Tuesdays 6pm MT (4/28, 5/5, 5/12)

​-Gently push yourself / gentely tax the nervous system JUST ENOUGH to make it stronger.  Then relax and repeat in this invigorating AND calming flow series.
-Each class begins with a different breathwork (pranayama) practice.
-Recordings of each pranayama practice provided after class so you can use it as a standalone practice for nervous system repair
-No special equipment needed.  Yoga mat recommended if you are working on hard/uncarpeted floors.

3 x Breathwork Recordings  (audio recording – see above)
-all around 5-7 minutes
-sent after Yoga Flow Class on Tuesdays

3 x 20 min. Yoga Nidra (audio recordings)
-Recordings sent on Thursdays. 
-Bliss out, reset your nervous system, reboot your brain – get the equivalent and benefits of at least one hour of sleep on the body’s healing and repair system.
-No special equipment needed, except those props that allow you to lie down on your back in complete comfort (pillow for the head, bolster or pillow behind the knees, blanket to cover the body, eye cover, etc.).
